Biography: Florence Rubel studied art at Pratt Institute, New York, and over the years has studied with Cynthia Bringle (Penland, NC), Duane Hanson (Miami, FL), Jun Isezaki (Bizen, Japan, 1983), Warren MacKenzie (University of Minnesota), Bill Moss (Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Deer Island, ME), and Louis Ulman (Miami, FL).

Rubel's constant innovations have yielded a storehouse of new techniques. These are shared with other artists in courses, which have included Sculptural Form on the Potter's Wheel, Effective Techniques in Mold-Building, Encaustic Painting, Working with Resins, Sawdust Firing, Nigerian Kiln Design, and Innovative Work in Clay.

Rubel's work has been featured in numerous juried and solo exhibitions, and can be found in private collections in the United States and abroad. She lives with her husband in the greater Miami, Florida area.
